Coaching Staff


John Peschl

John has been coaching high school forensics since 2003. He has coached numerous state champions and was awarded the WFCA Hintz Memorial Award for coaching excellence in 2012. Mr. Peschl has served as the WFCA Program Assistance Chairman.  He participated in high school (Sun Prairie High School) and collegiate forensics (UW-Whitewater).  John Peschl is a District Mentor at Sun Prairie.






Elliott Fischer

This will be Elliott’s twelfth year coaching forensics at Sun Prairie. Elliott was a high school speech performer in Iowa before competing in college forensics at Winona State University. He is also the Director of Forensics at the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. When not forensicating, Elliott is an instructor at UW-O.








Steve Mulich

Steve has been part of Sun Prairie Forensics for ten years with roles ranging from coaching to judge extraordinaire.  He participated in forensics in high school and has always had an interest in and being part of the performing arts.  Steve also works as a third grade teacher at Horizon Elementary School.  Watching the Sun Prairie Forensics team support each other while building a close knit 'family' brings him back every year!







Chelsea Ehmke
Chelsea is excited to be back with SP Forensics. She has formerly judged forensics, as well as coached volleyball and advised a high school newspaper at her former school, but she is excited to combine all of these interests and support such a successful team in Sun Prairie! Chelsea is a 9th grade English teacher at CHUMS. She also spends her summers working as a high school internship adviser in London, England, and enjoys taking the opportunity to backpack and travel whenever possible!  








Anna-Lisa Dahlgren


Anna-Lisa has been coaching at SP for 6 years.  She attended UW-Madison where she competed on their speech team for four years. While at UW, she was a student leader and competed in numerous state and national outrounds.  Currently, she is an 8th grade teacher in Marshall.  








Leigh Ann Maerz
Leigh Ann is excited to be part of the  Sun Prairie Forensics team again this year! She was involved as a participant in DeForest Forensics from 6-12 grade and then went on to coach and judge for DeForest for the next 5 years while helping judge for Sun Prairie when she could. Ms. Maerz moved to Minnesota for teaching where she tripled the size of her speech team. She was able to move back to WI where she accepted a teaching and head coach position for the Stoughton Forensics team. She welcomed the opportunity to come to teach 8th grade English at CHUMS. Leigh Ann Maerz will be the in-building leader for the CHUMS forensics students.
